28 - September 1, 2017
Bruiser
Monday: Be ready with your introduction
paragraph completed (maybe a little rough) and the two quotes you are going to
use to support your theme. We will write body paragraphs today. Hmwk: Finish
body paragraphs.
Tuesday: Check for body paragraphs. We will
write conclusion paragraphs today.
Wednesday: Laptops in the classroom to work on MLA formatting.
Thursday: Laptops in the classroom to work on typing the paper.
Save online to continue work from home or the computer lab. Hmwk: Paper due
Sept. 5.
Friday: We are moving on to our next unit while students continue
to type paper on their own time. Short stories! We are going to review literary
terms that we see in our short stories (and continue to see in our novels).
Hmwk: Paper due Sept. 5.

August 21 - 25, 2017
Bruiser
Monday: HAPPY ECLIPSE DAY! Hand back quizzes. Discuss Bruiser themes
through Theme Poster Activity.
Tuesday: Continue Theme Poster Activity if needed. Hand out paper
assignment. Hmwk: Choose a theme to write your paper over.
Wednesday: We will begin building
our paper in class. We will create a thesis statement and begin writing our
introductions in class. Hmwk: Finish your introduction paragraph at home to
bring back tomorrow. Ms. K will check them over.
Thursday: We will begin building our body paragraphs in class while Ms. K
looks over the introductions. Hmwk: Locate the quotes you are going to use in
your body paragraphs. Have them ready for class on Monday.
Friday: Library Orientation Day. We
will not have formal class. We will meet in the library to have a lesson from
our Media Center Specialist.

Monday: No School!
Tuesday: Welcome, welcome, welcome! Me bags assigned. Homework:
Me bags and summer reading notes due tomorrow.
Wednesday: Collect notes and start me bag presentations!
Thursday: Hand back notes. Continue me bag presentations. Bruiser
quiz tomorrow!
Friday: Bruiser
quiz. Go over syllabus and
expectations. Ice breaker activity.
